Cannot Click Hyperlinks After Uninstalling Chrome

After uninstalling the Google Chrome web browser, you cannot click on URLs (for example in email messages). This occurs because Chrome replaces some of the system's URL handling with its own but does not reinstate to the default after uninstalling. You may also be prompted “Locate the Link Browser”.

To reinstate the default behaviour, download the following file: FixURL.reg, save it to the desktop, then double-click it.

Alternatively, copy the following into a text file using Notepad, save it to the desktop as FixURL.reg, and double-click it.
