Microsoft Outlook — Errors When Sending Email- When sending email, you may receive the error 0x80040201 when sending to certain recipients. Sending email to other recipients works.
This may happen if you addressed the message using a stored nickname, which is incorrectly formatted, corrupt or damaged. - After sending an email to a recipient, the message immediately bounces back with a non-delivery receipt (NDR) containing: “None of your e-mail accounts could send to this recipient”.
The copy of the message in the Sent Items folder shows the properties of the recipient as being E-mail type: MAILTO instead of SMTP: This may occur if the message was addressed using a stored nickname entry, which was created after sending a message by clicking on a MAILTO: hyperlink on a webpage.
To resolve, delete the nickname, then address the message by entering the address manually or selecting from a contact. |
