Obtaining Malwarebytes

• Setup: https://downloads.malwarebytes.org/file/mbam

• Manual Signatures Updater: https://data.mbamupdates.com/tools/mbam-rules.exe

• Clean Utility: https://downloads.malwarebytes.org/file/mbam_clean (when removal is required and Uninstall does not help)

• Standalone Adware Remover: https://www.malwarebytes.com/adwcleaner/

MalwareBytes Doesn't Run

If you find MalwareBytes doesn't open, this may be because any malware/junkware in the system has set registry entries which causes it to fail or suppresses it. To resolve,

1. Open an elevated command prompt.

2. Type:

   ren "C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\mbam.exe" mbtmp.exe

   ren "C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\mbam.exe" mbtmp.exe

3. Run mbtmp.exe.

   MalwareBytes should then remove the hacked registry entries.
