Windows 8: Credentials Requested When ElevatingWhen attempting to elevate a process, Windows prompts for the username and password of an Administrator, despite the fact the currently-logged in user is a member of the Administrators group. In this circumstance, User Account Control should simply gain permission to elevate from the current user. This may be resolved as follows: - Open the Change User Account Control Settings applet.
- Change the slider to the lowest setting possible. Click OK and use some administrator credentials to accept the change.
- Log out and log back in.
- Open the Change User Account Control Settings applet.
- Change the slider back to the default setting.
