Netgear Routers — Tips for Migration to NBN

When switching from an ADSL service to FttP (Fibre to the Premises) or HFC (hybrid fibre/coax) via NBN (National Broadband Network), ensure your Netgear ADSL modem/router device is set as follows:

• Under Advanced → Setup → Internet Setup, ensure Encapsulation is PPPoE.

• Under Advanced → Setup → WAN Setup, ensure WAN Preference is Must Use Ethernet WAN.

• For HFC only, under Advanced → Setup → WAN Setup or Basic → Internet, enable Use VLANID and set it to 2.

  Also, for devices which do not have a dedicated WAN port but instead use one of the four LAN ports, ensure Use Port 4 As is set to WAN.
