Windows Reverts Change to ShellFeedsTaskbarViewMode[Observed on Windows 10 21H2 (10.0.19044.1415) with Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.3920.0 and 120.2212.4180.0.] If an attempt is made to turn off News and Interests from the Taskbar using a registry change or REGEDIT, Explorer changes it back immediately:  For example, reg add HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Feeds /v ShellFeedsTaskbarViewMode /d 2 /t REG_DWORD /f. If attempting to change to “0” (Show Icon And Text) or “1” (Show Icon Only), the value sticks. Only “2” (Turn Off) is overriden. If the value is already 2, writing 2 again will not be reverted. |
